Question
Assalaamu aleikum wa rahmatu Lahi wa barakaatu

In my copy of the Quran by the qiraat of Warsh, I notice that the letter "Waw" and "Yaa" have a shaddah when preceded by a noon saakinah which to me indicates an idghaam without ghunnah (just like the qiraat of khalaf Hamzah does) when reciting. For example in Surah 28 aayah 61 "Afa Man wa'adnaahu" and surah 14 aayah 11 "'alaa man yashaa" and 16 "min waraa". However when I listen to the recitation of these aayaat in Warsh, the recitor instead reads with idghaam and ghunnah.
I would like to know the following if I may:

1. Should not the aayaat be read without any ghunnah since there is a presence of a shaddah already?
2. Are there any other ways among the turuuq of Warsh that read the "waw" and "yaa" without ghunnah?

Thank you again for all. Wa Salaamu aleikum

Answer
Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
There are some copies of the Qur'an, even for Hafs which put in a shaadah on the wow and ya' after a noon saakinah or tanween.  These are parts of the enhancements to the mushaf and most scholars prefer there not be a shaddah there because it is an incomplete idghaam.  Some others (a minority)  believe the shaddah is necessary to show the idghaam.
The idghaam with a ghunnah for a noon saakinah or tanween followed by a wow or ya' is read with a ghunnah in the riwaaayah of Warsh in all the turuq.  There is no tareeq for Warsh which has a complete idghaam (no ghunnah) for the noon saakinah when followed by a wow or noon.
You are most welcome.  May Allah accept our and your fasting and good deeds.
Wa assalaam alaikum wa rahmatullah.
