Question
When reciting how do you stop on the name of Allah (subhanahu wa ta3aalaa) is it the same as your consistent end of ayah count 2, 4 or 6? Does this apply to asma al husna too?

Answer
The Glorious name of Allah has an unwritten but pronounced two count alif followed by  only one letter .  This makes the requisite for when stopping.  We therefore can stop on it by two, four, or six vowel counts according to our chosen length for all of Medd 'Aaridh.  We should be consistent in the length for any particular sitting for reading.
The Glorious names of Allah are lengthened for the length of if they have the requisites, some do and some don't.  The name الملك for example does not have a medd letter in it.  The same holds for the Glorious name المهييم
The Glorious name الرَّحِيم  has a medd letter just before the last letter, which is the requisite for , so that is lengthened with the same amount we lengthen our when stopping on that Glorious name.
