Question
Assalamu
Aleikum.
I have a question regarding the hiding of the noon. I know that when the
fatha with tanween is followed by the letter "Waw", the tanween is
merged into
the letter which is one of the rules for the hiding. During the celebration of
Eid, there is one Du'a that has this sentence: " ...Wa subhana llâhi
bukrata(n) wa assila.." Some were saying with the proper rule which is:
"bukrataw wa assila" (the merging) however I heard others
pronouncing the noon such as : "bukratan wa assila." I would like to
know: are both pronunciations correct? In other words, is pronouncing
either "bukrataw" or "bukratan" allowed in Tajweed?
May Allah reward you in finding the answers inshallah.
Ma Salam
Answer
Wa alaikum
assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.
In recitation
of the Qur’an when there is a
saakinah,
which includes the tanween with any vowel, followed by the letter
, there is a merging of the
saakinah
into the
, with an accompanying ghunnah, such
as in:
. This
is in reading the Qur’an.
When it comes
to other things such as dua’ or the talbiyah, etc. it is not the same as the
stress of importance in reading with tajweed rules or proper classical Arabic.
Allah knows best. Of
course, if one makes the idghaam etc, they are doing well, since this is
correct classical Arabic. See also
