As Salaam Alaikum,

Hello, is there one explanation of the Shatibiyyah that you would recommend as offering the clearest exposition? All help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.

There are many explanations available as you are most likely aware and a student of the qira’aat is always recommended to have more than one for reference.  That being said, there should be one that is used as the main source and we would recommend   (Al-Waafee fee Sharh Ash-Shaatibiyyah fi-l-Qira’aat as-Saba’) by Ash-Sheikh (Abdulfattah Al-Ghanee Al-Qaadhee). 

A second more abbreviated explanation, which includes the explanation of Al-Durrah Al-Mudhiyyah is (Kitabaan fi-l-Qira’aat Al-‘Ashr) by Ash-Sheikh  (Ali Muhammed Adh-Dhabbaa’), is a nice second reference. 

You didn’t mention your Arabic abilities and we assumed you have a reasonable grasp of Arabic.  There are no explanations available in English that we know of at this time.
