Question
Assalamu
aleikum wa rahmatu lilahi wa barakatu
I would like to know whether or not the word "Salât" in general,
but in surat al baqarah verse 153 in particular, is it read with
tafkheem in the riwayah of Hafs by way of shatibbiyyah. If no, is it read with
tafkheem in the riwayah of warsh? Because I have heard it (the word salât)
pronounced in 2 different ways: one with no emphasis and the other with
tafkheem.
May Allah increase our interest in the knowledge of tajweed and the recitation
of Al Qur'an inshallah
Wa salamu alaikum
Answer
Wa alaikum
assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh. The letter
in
the word
is read with tafkheem of the in all of the
different qir’aaat, but only the recitation of Warsh has additional tafkheem
of the
and
the following alif. This rule is
for all of the occurrences of the word
in the Qur’an and not specific for a
particular aayah. Hafs then does not make tafkheem of the
and
following alif in this word in any place in the Qur’an.
Ameen to your
dua’.
Wa assalaam
alaikum wa rahmatu Allah.
