the use of transliterations. Reading the Qur'an in Arabic, as revealed,
should be the goal of every Muslim. Transliterations invariably lead to
mistakes in pronunciation of letters, and indeed many transliterations

It does not take long to learn how to read Arabic if a full effort is made. Each letter is learned with its correct pronunciation this way, and the problem of reading Allah's words incorrectly is insha' Allah solved, or at least minimized. The only time when transliteration is necessary is for new Muslims to learn that which is necessary to pray.
