Question

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah.  Could you please clarify for me if the ra saakinah here in the 4th word would have heaviness or lightness;  because of the heavy letter, before it, does it then have heaviness even though there is a kesra before the ra? Jazakumu Allahu khairan.

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.  The letter , in the word  would be read with tarqeeq because it is saakinah and the letter before it has a kasrah.  The letter of tafkheem influences the  when it is after a ra’ saakinah  and the saakinah is preceded by a kasrah (as in , or when the  is saakinah and the letter before the is  saakinah and a letter of tafkheem and the letter before this saakin letter of tafkheem has a kasrah (as in   when stopping).  Other than those circumstances there is no influence of the letter of tafkheem on the way the  is recited.
