Transferring the vowel of the hamzah to the
saakin letter before it
In general Qaloon does not
transfer the vowel of a hamzah to the saakin letter before it, unlike Warsh,
but there are a few exceptions to this.
A.
These two words in
surah An-Najm aayah 50, areread with idghaam
of the tanween into the
and
the vowel on the hamzah of the word
is transferred to the
(
) and then there is a hamzah
saakinah after the
,
so it is read as:

When starting on the
second word of this phrase,
,
Qaloon starts either with the hamzah wasl with a fath, followed by the laam
with a dhammah and the hamzah saakinah after that as in :
or
without the hamzah wasl, since the laam has acquired a vowel so there is no
need for the hamzah al-wasl, as in:
.
B.

Qaloon,
as well as Warsh read the word
in
aayah 34 of Al-Qasas,
with
a
on the
without a hamzah
after it as:
.
C.
Qaloon reads this word when
it has the questioning hamzah before the noun in its double occurrence in
surah Yunus, (aayaat 51 and 91) with transfer (
)
of the vowel on the hamzah to the laam preceding it: This
,
or transfer of the vowel of the hamzah, happens whether the word is read
with a long alif after the questioning hamzah or with
.
