In the word 'muqtasid' at the end of surah luqman, why is the letter ta pronounced with tarqeeq and not tafkheem as we are told? I though ta was a letter of tafkheem, and not isti3laa2?
I have heard this on all recordings, I would be grateful if you could explain this for me.
The word in aayah 32 of surah Luqmaan has the letter placed between two letters of , the and the . The does not have the characteristic of nor does it have tafkheem. It always has tarqeeq and is not affected by the letters next to it. Great care is needed when pronouncing this word that the does not acquire tafkheem, especially since both the letter before and after has tafkheem. What you have heard on the recordings is correct. The in the word and in all words in the Qur’an has tarqeeq. There are only three letters that do not have , but under some circumstances have tafkheem.
