Question
Title: The qiraat of Warsh Assalaamu aleikum wa rahmatu Lahi wa barakaatuh May Allah shower you and all those who are taking advantage of your wonderful website with His Immense Mercy. I was listening to a reciter reading by the way of Warsh surah Abasa (80). Even though I do not know the rules of Warsh yet, I noticed that he read completely differently from other reciters reading in Warsh as well such as Al Husary or Basit. 1. He read with absolutely no tarqeeq of the "Ra". 2. He also did not read with taqleel. 3. He did not lengthen to 4 or 6 count the leen letter in aayah 18 (shay'in) 4. However he read with tasheel of the second hamzah in aayah 22 (a anshara) My question is to know whether Warsh, among its various turuq, allows such rules of reciting. May Allah facilitate your affairs. Jazaakumu Lahu khairan Answer Wa alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh Ameen and may be of them. The recitation is Warsh by tareeq Al-Asbahani whereas the way of recitation you are used to hearing is Warsh by Tareeq Al-Azraq. It would be better if it had been clarified on the site. May Allah give you all khair and increase you in beneficial knowledge. Wa iyyaakum wa-l-muslimeen |
