Question
Title: The riwayah of ibn hishaam and Assossiy Assalaamu aleikum wa rahmatu lilahi wa barakaatuh May Allah shower you with His Blessings for all your good work. 1. How does the qiraat of ibn hishaam read the word "qiila" in surah Az Zumar aayha 72? Is there a Dhamma on the letter qaaf? 2. In the recitation of Assoossiy, I notice that there is no idghaam of the letter "baa" in surah 28 aayah 17 and similarly in surah 39 aayah 46 there is no merging of the letter "taa" in "Anta tahkumu..." I thought that whenever there were two similar letters next to each other there was idghaam. However not in those two cases. Would you please explain why there is no idghaam in those two aayah? Wa salaamu aleikum Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh Ameen and may Allah give you the same and more. 1. Hisham, Al-Kisaa'iee and Ruwais read with what is called a "ishmaam" where the qaaf is read with a dhammah and then the reciter proceeds directly to the ya' saakinah. This for any place in the Qur'an this word occurs as written above. 2. There are restrictions for for the riwwayah of As-Soosiyy. One of these rules is that there cannot be an ikhfaa' before the two alike or similar letters such as . Another restriction is that the first letter cannot have a tanween, such as in Al-Qasas 17: . These are the reasons there is no idghaam kabeer in the two parts of your second question. Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah |
