Question
Assalamlaikum warahmathullah May Allah reward you immensely in both the worlds. My question is regarding the hamza with fatha tanween. The rule in writting is that a fatha tanween is followed by alif which is read as medd taba'ee on stopping. But sometimes the letter "hamza" comes with a fatha tanween but without the alif. eg surah nisa, verse 11 the word nisaa'an,is without alif. What is the ruling for this? Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, And May Allah reward you with the same in both worlds. Most of the time, this alif is written in the Qur'an for our benefit, but when there is a hamzah at the end of the noun and it has a fathah tanween on it, the alif is not written in, but we still follow the rule and stop with an alif. This is exemplified in: . So here we still substitute an alif for the tanween when stopping.
