Is there nabr on a Qalqalah letter which is saakin, has a shaddah on it and you are going to stop on it? |

Question
Assalaamu-alaikum I have a question about the nabr. Is there nabr on a Qalqalah letter which is saakin, has a shaddah on it and you are going to stop on it? For example the word al haqq with a shaddah on the Qaaf. And also the word: wa tabb with a shaddah on the baa in surah lahab. Or is there no nabr but just a bit of a hold to emphasize the shaddah on the letter? What about nabr on the letters other than the Qalqalah letters if they are sakin and carry a shaddah. I hope you can answer my questions. Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh If the qalqalah letter has a shaddah on it, it is only saakin when stopping. There is a written vowel on it. There is no need to stop with a nabr in this case because the mechanism of the saakin part of the shaddah and the mechanism of the second part with has a qalqalah show clearly there are two letters there. We read the saakin part of the shaddah with collision of the two articulation components of the letter and the qalqalah letter with separation of the two articulation components without any mouth or jaw movement. In a non-qalqalah letter on the end of a word with a shaddah, we do need to make a nabr to make clear that there are two letters there. An exception is the noon and meem with a shaddah on the last letter. The elongated ghunnah makes clear that there are two of the noon or meem.
