Question
I have learnt so much from this site.M.A. "May Allah reward you for all your efforts" Ameen
I wanted to clarify one thing i.e. When we stop on a word that has a hamza and its preceded by a medd letter e.g of the word "as - samaaa".we consider it to be medd wajib, only if we give it 4 or 5 vowel counts and that's the way of "hafs an aasim" but if we lengthen the medd with 6 vowel counts then we will consider that as medd aarid and not medd wajib and this  6 counts lengthening is it also the way of ash shatibiyaah?or of an other reader?

Answer
Assalaam alaikum and jazakum Allahu khairan for your dua'.
Your statement is correct, but there needs to be a little clarification.  When stopping on a word that has a hamzah as the last letter and a medd waajib ending on that hamzah such as , we can stop on it six counts as , but only if that is how we are reading all of , meaning reading them all with six vowel counts.  This holds true for Hafs 'an 'Aasim min tareeq Ash-Shaatibiyyah, and that is the way explained on the site in detail.
There are some different turuq of Hafs 'an 'Aasim which have six counts for , so then we would only stop on this word or a word like it with six vowel counts, as and if we were lengthening six counts, then both medd would be present at the same time.
In the different qira'aat the same would hold true for those who lengthen six vowel counts, they would stop on a word like this with six vowel counts as and maybe shared with if they were stopping on all with six vowel counts.
