Question:
Can you learn a surah and perfect it in tajweed even if you don't know any tajweed rules etc.. simply by repeatedly listening and practising an ayah over and over again recited by shaykh hussary?? Also which type of recitation of his should you use for learning to recite the Quran properly, murattal, mujawwad or mu'alm?? Jazakallah Khair. Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, It is possible, and has happened, but it needs one with a good discerning ear who can pick up all the small different changes in sound and then figure out how to imitate these sounds. One shouldn't assume that they have accomplished reading a surah with perfect tajweed, however without a qualified teacher listening to their recitation. The best of recording type to listen to for learning correct recitation is mua'llim, because it is very slow and repeated. Wa iyyaakum. Wa assalaam |
