Question
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh If a person is stopping on a word which ends with a qalqala letter that has tanween al fathah, can the word be read with either a sukoon on the qalqala letter or does madd al ewad take precedence? Example is Surah an-Naba (78) ayah 40 the word "qareeban". JazakAllahu khair Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, The qalqalah letter has to be saakin for a qalqalah to take place. In the case of stopping on a word with a , the last letter to be pronounced then is the alif which substitutes for the tanween, and the ba' in the example in the question has a fathah on it, so there would be no qalqalah. http://www.abouttajweed.com/the-mudood-the-lengthenings-/the-mudood-lengthenings-part-3.html Wa iyyaakum. |
