Question
What is the Purpose of Tajweed?
Answer
The purpose of the study of tajweed rules and reading with tajweed to a qualified teacher is to be able to read the Qur'an as it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammed, peace and blessings of Allah upon him.  The Prophet taught the companions the proper recitation of the Qur'an and they passed in on to those after them in authentic chains of transmission.
