Assalamu Alaykum Respected Teachers,

I have noticed that in the 'murattal' recordings of Shaykh Basfar, he seems to prolong the harf dhaad (when sakin - rikhwa ?), but at the same time (what seems like to me atleast) pronounce a slight qalqalah-like sound.

At first I thought maybe it was just a slip of the tongue, but he seems to be doing it constantly throughout the recordings... to the point that I am beginning to think it's on purpose. Could you please clarify this for me.... although I am pretty sure it can't be qalqalah.. which part of the taweed rules is he following that causes him to emit this sound ?

Jazakumullahu Khairan.

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
The timing for the  saakinah is the same timing as all other letters of .  The also has the characteristic of , which is a mechanical pushing forward of the tongue due to the compression of the sound.  You probably are hearing the  running of the sound of under the influence of the.  Sheikh Basfar, may Allah preserve him, pronounces the dhaad very nicely, masha' Allah tabaarak Allah.
Wa iyyaakum.  Wa assalam alaikum.
