Question
Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, In aayah of one of surah Al-Ikhlaas: We have the word which has a wow with an accompanying fathah as its last letter. This (wow) must be pronounced by the lips separating from a puckered position and then opened up for the fathah. The English W is similar but not exactly the same. After the (wow), there is a hamzah wasl on the Glorious name of Allah, , this hamzah is not pronounced when continuing from what precedes it, instead it is only pronounced when starting the word. So if we start on the word, we start with a hamzah with a fahah on it. If however, we are continuing reading from the preceding word, ,we go directly from the fathah on the wow to the laam saakinah of the two laams of the shaddah [on the laam] of , and do not pronounce the hamzah wasl at all.
We highly recommend reading the Qur’an with Arabic letters, as the correct pronunciation cannot be properly done with English letters. You may have included Arabic letters in your question, but they do not come through with the website submission form. There were numbers and symbols that could have been sent as Arabic words. Wa assalaam alaikum. |
