Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

May Allah reward you for your efforts to propagate the correct reading of His Book.

I would like to verify whether the correct way to stop at the end of the word; (al-Baari') by the way of Hafs.  In the last verse of Surah al-Hashr:  (Al-Hashr 24)  is as if a sukoon had been imposed on the ya hamza (albari'), or is it with madd tabee3ee (albaree). I think it should the former, except I heard a qaari stop with a madd tabee3ee. (However he was reading in various qiraa'aat, it could well have been in some other qiraa'ah.)

Also, are there any good reciters who stop with ar-raum in their recitation?

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Jazakum Allahu khairan for your dua’.

In the recitation of Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim, there are no changes to when stopping on a word with a .  The recitation of though changes when stopping on a word which has a in the middle or on the end of a word, and the riwaayah of Hishaam changes the if it is on the end of the word (last letter), when stopping on that word.

If you heard the recitation as if  had been changed into a ya’ saakinah and therefore having a two count natural lengthening , then it is either the recitation of or the riwaayah of Hishaam.  Stopping on this word would normally be done as requested from a teacher (when reciting the different qira’aat) or if the reciter ran out of breath, but not in the normal course or reading this aayah.

On the whole, you will not find recordings of recitation stopping with , but if you listen to the different qira’aat, specifically the recitation of Hamzah  ( ),  you will more likely encounter it, but not necessarily.

Wa assalaam alaikum wa rahmatullah
