Is there any noon sound when a noon saakinah is followed by a laam? |
||||
Question
Assalaam Alayakum, I had a question from surah baqarah verse 12 (2:12) at the end I see there's a "noon" before a "laam" with a "shaddah" which is "wa laakin la yash'uroon". However, I hear some Sheikhs applying a very slight "noon" sound making it "wa laakinla yash'uroon" Is this right or should they stick to the original rule of just overruling the "noon" to the "laam"? Thank you jazaku allahyu khayran Answer Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, When there is a saakinah (vowelless) or tanween followed by a there is complete merging of the saakinah into the in the reading of Hafs 'an 'Aasim by the way of Shaatibiyyah and there should be no ghunnah or sound accompanying it. The rule is called idhgaam without ghunnah, meaning there is complete merging of the saakinah into the . This is only when there is a vowelless . Please see: http://www.abouttajweed.com/the-noon-saakinah-and-tanween/merging-of-the-noon-saakinah-and-tanween-p-2.html for more details on this rule. You are welcome, wa iyyaakum. |
