How can one who finds it difficult to read Arabic begin the study of tajweed? |
||||
Question Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh How should one who has basic understanding of Arabic and finds it difficult to read Arabic, begin with their study of tajweed? May Allaah shower you with His mercy aameen barak Allaahu feekum Answer Wa Alaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh, The best way to learn Tajweed is with a skilled teacher. It is best to study the Arabic alphabet and to learn and understand how to articulate the letters correctly from the proper articulation point.
After that, the reader should practice with the harakat (vowels) and learn how to join the words together smoothly without lenghtening a vowel too long, or taking away from the proper timing of a letter. It is helpful if one does this by learning how to read from Qa'ida Nooraniah and under the supervision of a teacher. However, if there is no teacher available, one can try to learn on his own by extra effort.
The most important point is to listen carefully to a skilled recitor and improve the reading through this with lots of practice.
May Allah help us all to recite the Quran with tajweed and proper recitation as it was revealed to Prophet (peace be upon him). May Allah make us among Ahl-Quraan and may He, 'Azza Wajal be pleased with us all. Ameen.
Wa Jazakum Allahu Khairan.
