Question
As salamalaykoem wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, I have a question. Could you tell me what the tajweed rule is on stopping op the letter 'wow'. For example in surat Yusuf ayaah 100: if you want to stop on minal Barakallhufik. Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh The general rule in Arabic is that we stop with a sukoon on the last letter. In this case, it is a , but not a medd letter, so it is as any other letter and we put a temporary sukoon on the when stopping. This requires some care because the daal before it is saakinah. We have to make sure we give the qalqalah to the daal without adding a vowel and then pronounce the with circling our two lips and take care that we do not lengthen it. The lessons on stopping on the ends of words are found at: http://www.abouttajweed.com/stopping-on-the-ends-of-words/index.php Wa feekum al-barakah |
