Question

As-salaamu Alaykum wa RahamAllah

 Dear brothers and sisters

I wanted to know what is the best way to memorize the Qur’an and to improve reading it praise be to Allah because I have good tajweed already I am 18 but I have been learning the Qur’an from a young age but still finding it difficult to read the Qur’an please tell me how to improve my Qur’an.

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.

Masha’ Allah, it is wonderful to know that you have the desire to memorize the Glorious Qur’an and have good tajweed.  May Allah make easy for you the memorization of the complete Qur’an.

Your statement that you have difficulty reading the Qur’an is confusing to us.  Do you have troubles actually reading, or do you mean memorization?  If you have troubles with the reading then that should be your first priority.  You need to listen to an audio recording of a known sheikh such as Sheikh Al-Husary or Sheikh Abdullah Basfar, and repeat after them until your reading is smooth. You should not proceed to a new section until you can read a section smoothly and without error in letters and vowels.

The best way to memorize is to have a structured program and be very disciplined in it.  You should set up a program that is workable for memorization and review and keep to the schedule at all times.  We have given different advice before about  memorization, and you can read the answers to questions about memorizing by clicking on the following links:
