Question

Salam "Alaykum,

I happens to be in Tajweed class which I found very interesting, My question now is " is it compulsory to apply these rules?  What if one finds some alphabets difficult to pronounce?  What can one do to improve?

If a letter is difficult to pronounce, the answer is practice with your teacher in class and at home with a tape or recording of a master of recitation and make a lot of dua’ that Allah will bless you with the ability to read each letter correctly.  There are many students of the Qur’an who have difficulty with some letters, and by Allah’s will and then their hard work and perseverance; they are able to succeed in pronouncing the letters correctly.  Sometimes it takes a long time to get a letter, but we should never give up trying to correct it.
