Question

Assalaam alaikum.
I was wondering if there is an age limit to learning tajweed.  Do you have to learn tajweed at a young age or can you start when you are in your twenties?  I am 24 and I was wondering if it's too late to learn tajweed at a beginner's level.
Thank You

Answer

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.

There is no age limit at all in learning tajweed.  We know of many converts (reverts) to Islam that have learned how to read Arabic and then learned tajweed when they were in their thirties and forties, and they accomplished it well, masha' Allah tabaarak Allah.

You are still young at 24 masha' Allah, may Allah make it easy for you.  Put your full effort in it and make a lot of dua'; insha' Allah you will be an accomplished reader within a short time.  Never give up and never say "I can't ".
